Facets of Life.

Independence Day.
I have officially attained independence. Sometimes I think that this isn't such a good thing, but then again it's not such a bad thing either. At least I can start to learn to take care of myself when my mom's not around to do so. And I have Abbie too! :D

My mom left for France for two years yesterday, and Abbie accompanied me to send her off despite not feeling too well. You're a dear, dear! Hehe. We went to watch TMNT yesterday at 3.20 at The Cathay, and it was quite a good show. The only thing I didn't really like about the show was the lack of fight scenes.

There were a few fight scenes in general, but they were either too short or too unconcentrated. The only real scene I liked was when Leonardo fought Raphael, who pummelled him to the ground.

We went to the pasar malam to buy dinner, I got myself a Ramly burger, and 3 bowls of sharks' fin soup for Abbie and me. After dinner, we rewatched a bit of Anastasia and left for the airport.

Abbie had another bowl of chicken porridge and a cup of barley at the airport, and after that we sang my mom an advance birthday song at the eatery. Everything ended with my mom and her stupid friend and her good-for-nothing husband went into the departure gate, and we all hugged each other and waved good-bye.

They're mean, they're green, they're heroes in a half-shell! Turtle power!!!

Our Iced Honey Lemon from The Cathay.

Sharks' fin soup! They may not be authentic, but who cares?! The fins have no taste, it's the egg, crabstix and mushrooms that make it so nice!

My baby enjoying her chicken congee! It was pretty good.

A smiley face on the cake!

Our reflection!

Saw this on my way to Abbie's place today. What a good example to set to our younger generations!

Colorgenics
Got to know about Colorgenics from someone's blog, and boy is it ever accurate.

At this time you are really feeling quite exhausted by all the conflict and quarrelling that is going on about you and you are looking for some sort of protection from this state of affairs. Ideally you are seeking a peaceful condition and a tranquil environment in which you can be afforded the chance to relax and recover......

You want what you want and you need all that you want and, as they say in the movies, you are the sort of individual that 'By hook or by crook' you will, by fair means or foul, endeavour to get what you are looking for.

Your confidence has been shattered. There are so many things that you would like to do with your life, so many dreams to be fulfilled - and you know that your hopes and dreams are not just figments of your imagination, they are real and you are looking for reassurance from someone. Basically your fears are such that you may be prevented in attaining your hopes and dreams. Even now you would like to broaden your fields of endeavour but in order to develop your 'inner- self' you need peace and solace. You are distressed by the fear that you may be prevented from attaining your goals. What you really need at this particular moment in time is quiet reassurance from someone close to you to restore your confidence.

For whatever the reason, you find it extremely difficult to sustain relationships - that is to sustain them in the manner that you would wish. You are a very gentle sort of person, full of feeling, sensitivity and susceptible to love and affection, looking and longing for a partner with whom you can enjoy 'All things bright and beautiful' - someone with whom you can seek out the more esoteric things of life. But up to now this person has only existed in your imagination. You are very choosy, appreciative, refined and extremely artistic in temperament and it is your hope to seek others who will allow you to form and express your own taste and judgement and who at the same time may assist you in your intellectual or artistic growth.

In the past your trusting attitude has often been misunderstood and so you have needed to protect yourself against your tendency to be abused and taken advantage of. As a consequence you possibly adopt an aloof and critical attitude and you are only willing to let your guard down once sincerity and trustworthiness can be assured.

Freaky, I know.

Mr. Bean's Holiday.
Hello! Abbie and I went to The Cathay to watch Mr. Bean today. Booked tickets yesterday, and got ourselves pretty good seats. We got the Grand Cathay theatre, and boy was it huge!

We went for lunch at the PS food court, and headed over to The Cathay to get our tickets. I had a bit of a cold for most parts of the day, so my nose was dripping like a faulty tap. I even ended up having to use my spare jacket as a handkerchief. Disgusting, I know. But what's a man to do when there's no tissue paper?! Lol.

The movie was an excellent anti-depressant - people would burst out laughing every 5 minutes or so. But then again, it got boring after a little while because his antics are all fairly similar.

Took a picture of the life-size Mr. Bean after the movie, after watching him get raped by 3 insane girls. Bought a shepherd's pie and 6 mini chicken pies when whe got to her neighbourhood.

We then headed to Gelare near Abbie's place, and treated ourselves to a waffle topped with Chocolate Overload ice-cream, and a cup of hot chocolate to help ease my cold with darling's $10 voucher.

I went home with my nose pretty much ok, thankfully. We're gonna pay school fees tomorrow and watch Anastasia!!

Everyone's best friend, Mr. Bean.

Viewing screen. Huge right?

Yummilicious hot chocolate!

Me!

Froth moustaches!

A facet of life.
Over a lifetime, friendships are forged. Friendships are strengthened. And friendships are broken. But for every friendship that is broken, many more await to take its place. Friendships that are broken easily aren't worth much anyway.

For every decision we make, there are opportunity cost - opportunities forgone and the benefits that could be received from those opportunities, or the most valuable forgone alternatives.

Every decision made, must be made with the best benefits, or of most value in mind to the decision maker. Everything else is of little or no importance at all. It's every man for himself in this world. Nobody stops for anyone else, strictly because time and tide waits for no man.

Every individual would logically make decisions that benefit himself first, then others rather than the other way round.

In the end, it boils down to one point: If she can't see the good in me, then find another one who will.

Genting Trip.
Went on a trip to Genting from 5th to 7th March with the gang from SIM - Abbie, Anqi, Deshun, Jay, Jes, Mark, Wilkid, Yumi and not forgetting Mark's best bud Gregory.

The first day saw us meeting at 7+a.m. at Golden Mile outside the Grassland Express office. We boarded the bus and made ourselves comfortable after that. The ride lasted for almost 7 hours with a few stops along the way for food, drinks and toilet.

We checked into our hotel rooms at around 5, where all of us took a short rest before gathering for dinner. Abbie, Jes, Wilkid and I went to the food court at the top for dinner while the rest had theirs at Kenny Rogers.

The food at the food court was fantabulous - especially the fried rice with the belacan chilli. Whooo! I wouldn't mind having that everyday to be honest.

We went to celebrate Mark's birthday at the bar after that, and boy did I get drunk. I drank like a horse and ended up throwing up 3 times. But it was a fun experience nonetheless!

The next morning we met to have dim sum for breakfast, then bought tickets for the outdoor theme park. We had plenty of fun, and by the end of the day we were famished. We were supposed to go and have a buffet dinner, but by the time I finished completing Time Crisis 4 it was already too late so we headed to the food court instead. All of us had fried rice, and everyone enjoyed it.

The third morning all of us woke up quite late, and by the time we finished bathing and packing up it was just nice to check out. So we went for a little lunch, then got ready to head to the coach to get back to good ol' Singapore.

We left at 2.30 and reached Boon Lay at 9, where Abbie, Gregory, Mark, Yumi and I had our dinner at the nearby hawker centre while the rest of them took a cab to Jurong Point for theirs.
