Facets of Life.

Vexed. Doubly.
It's been doing nothing but raining, raining and raining the whole of today. What bad luck. I'm feeling extremely vexed right now, and I feel extremely resentful towards the weather. Today has been a bad day for me, to say the least.

First of all, I got extremely rudely awakened in the wee hours of the morning by a stupid tabby in heat at the bottom of my block. It was mewing loudly non-stop, and after a few minutes I got irritated and threw a water bag downstairs to scare it away.

I was supposed to go out for a movie with Jes today, but as luck would have it, it was raining too heavily for either one of us to go out, so we had to cancel it. And I had so much planned for the day too. But now everything has gone down the drain, without so much as a trace, thanks to the bloody dastardly rain.

Our exam results came out at 5pm, and the word disappointed would do little justice to the way I felt. I got a B+ for Accounting, and C+ for Business Communications and Principles of Management. A far cry from what I had expected to get. Well, I guess all I can do now is grit my teeth and smile, and do doubly triply well for the next semester.

Life is a bitch, and Fate has a way of sinking you to the depths of the abyss when you're feeling good. This, has been a totally screwed up day for me.

Of Steamboats and Birthdays.
8 September 2006 was Dir's birthday. He arranged to have a steamboat down at Marina South, along with team Strife and his own group of friends. Last Friday saw me meeting him at Khatib, before heading down to Yio Chu Kang to wait for his 2 friends.

They arrived after a 15 minute wait, and we went on to meet the rest of the gang who were supposed to be at Marina Bay MRT station at 6pm. As expected, we were late, but still not the latest.

There were 14 of us in total, inluding me. After everyone had met up we went on ahead to the bus stop, which was already packed with people on their way for steamboat too. Bus 400 arrived shortly after, but was too crowded for us to get on so we stayed on and waited for the next one.

The bus came 10 minutes later, and we boarded the bus like schoolchildren rushing up a school bus. I managed to get a seat beside LZ, and there was this bung with hair coloured like a spoilt traffic light - a mess of green and amber. Stylish? I hardly think so.

During the bus ride LZ was telling me about Jay Chou's new album, and since I didn't like him, I retorted "No I don't listen to Jay, because Jay si Gay." And that got me a punch in the chest from LZ. We arrived at our destination shortly, but for some reason the bus driver didn't want to open the door.

A commotion soon started and everyone began chattering to everyone else. Suddenly there were shouts of "LI AI KUI MENG MAI?!?!"(Do you want to open the door?!) from the front. The door opened after a few shouts, and I saw a group of ah bengs alight.

Everyone ambled off the bus slowly, and when we got off we were spoilt for choices. There was a whole row of steamboat restaurants, and since the "most popular" one was already packed, we walked down the street to the other scarcely-populated one.

We got a table for 14, paid up and the proceeded to get our utensils. We then went to get our food, and started showing off our culinary skills. Calvin and I got ourselves a huge plate of Satay Chicken, and threw everything on to the grill. I got a plateful of fried dumplings, which got polished off in like 5 minutes.

The whole cooking and eating episode went on quite peacefully, with the occasional splatter of the butter and shouts of shock and pain. LZ and Ying were busy cooking food for everyone, the nice ladies.

Lim joined us around an hour and a half later, and proceeded with his talks about religion, foreign talents, school and of course everyone else's hot favourite, World of Warcraft. The other table had already finished eating, so they went on ahead to the pool centre to play pool.

I stayed on with Calvin and Lim, and we chatted while Lim ate. LZ suddenly felt like puking, so Dir went to check on her. After she came back, she was holding on to the pillar and swinging around. What happened next was totally unexpected.

She suddenly went limp and fainted. Luckily we were around her, so we caught her and let her sit down on a chair. A nurse saw this, and got 2 of her friends to come and have a look at LZ, trying to resuscitate her.

I went to the drinks stall to borrow some medicated oil, and it worked wonders. The oil was hardly near her when she spluttered and coughed, and awoke. After a bit of fussing from the nurses, she was well and awake, but her legs had gone numb and couldn't move.

Ying asked me to carry her, and I was just about to, when Lim shouted at me "HEY! YOU STAY OUT OF IT!" because he'd offered to carry her a lot of times, but got ignored. Finally, when the nurses were out of sight, we propped LZ up and I was about to carry her away when they came back, and gave us a longwinded lecture.

Finally we decided to call Maki over to take LZ home, and he arrived within 10 minutes. His face though, was black as thunder, and that kinda pissed me off. But who's to blame him? He piggybacked LZ to the roadside, where we got a chair for her to sit while we tried to get a cab for them.

I saw one in the distance, and all of us went to get the cab to pick them up. After that we all went back to the pool centre where YKC and Dewei faced off in a round of pool, then left because it was getting late.

Back at the MRT station, we all parted ways with those staying at the north side taking the North/South line while the rest took the East/West line. During the trip, YKC was telling us about his encounter with the year 1's in his school, locking them in and looking for fights and whatnot.

After he alighted at Ang Mo Kio, only Dir, me and milkshake were left. Milk was sitting opposite us, and I saw an Indian girl sit down beside him. Feeling bored, I got his number from Dir and sent an SMS to him. The following happened.

Me: "Hi, are you feeling high?"
He: "huh, hu r u"
Me: "The Indian chick sitting beside you. Do you like my boobies? ^^"

What happened next totally blew my socks off. He frowned at the message on his phone, then slowly and cautiously turned to his left to look at the Indian girl. That was all I could take before bursting out in laughter. He realized what happened, and laughed along with us.

When we all alighted at Khatib, we all went on our separate ways home. To end it all, a pic taken at the steamboat, courtesy of Ying.

Holidays.

Holidays are here again and I'm bored out of my mind. Holidays are good, but the reason I don't really like them is because my classmates are all busy with their own things, and my own friends are all busy with their own things as well.

I went to Orchard with Thomas yesterday, and we walked around from 2.30 to about 6.30. We went to Heeren first where I bought myself 3 new tops from Flesh Imp, then wandered aimlessly around for a while, and then decided to head to Cineleisure and finally Borders, where I bought myself a book by Dan Brown titled Digital Fortress. It was also there that we saw De Shun, Jay, and 3 other classmates whose names I do not know.

After our shopping trip, we went to Burger King where I had my dinner, then to Great Treat where Thomas had his Korean-style dinner. I was pretty tired out by the time we'd finished, so we sat around and chatted a bit before heading to Dhoby Ghaut to go home.

And that's how I spent my day. With that, more pics for entertainment.

A Honda Accord parked below my block. Looking at the license plate, it's not difficult to figure out how much he actually spent on the whole car. I'm surrounded by rich peeps!

Finally...

Yes. Finally, our exams for this semester have ended. I can now sleep in peace, without having to worry about what's going to come out next. But, that also means no more mugging sessions with the gang.

Overall, I think I did okay for my papers, just not as well as I'd expected to. I could have done much better for BC, but because there are losers who do not know how to do the peer evaluation, I won't be getting my A for it any more. On the other hand, I know I can do well for POM, so at least I'll get that one A. Hopefully.

Been thinking about a lot of things lately. I've been dreaming about her every night for the past week, but I just can't bring myself to say them out, because I'm afraid it would hurt our friendship, like all other similar cases. Why do things always have to turn out this way? Everytime something seems so near it ends up flying away further than ever before, way out of my reach.

Went out to Plaza Singapura this past Thursday to watch Monster House with Jes, Veron, David, Jemmy and Yumi. In all honesty, I didn't expect so many people to turn up, but well, like they say, the more the merrier. It rained all day that day, and really put a dampener on everyone's spirits.

Monster House was good, and I enjoyed it. Jes was sitting beside me, and being the easily excitable person she was, she was so hyper throughout the show. That's what makes her so cute. The movie started at 5.10pm, and ended at 6.45pm, and since most of them had to go home for dinner, we all left for the MRT station together.

We parted ways with Veron, Yumi and me taking the train going to Jurong East, while Jes, David and Jemmy took the train in the opposite direction. The three of us had a nice little chat on the way back, and in no time we alighted at our respective stops, with me being the last one.

The next day saw me, Jes and Thomas mugging at Woodlands Regional Library, from 2.30pm to around 5pm. Jes and I then took 969 to Tampines Interchange, where I went to meet a friend and have dinner, then headed back home via 969.
